  • Q:

i purchased the acyl-glutathione eye lid serum because it addresses the whole eye. My upper eyelid skin is thin and red and blue, going all of the way to about a third of the brow bone. I feel I should be using something else in addition (to thicken the skin) and I'm looking at the Neuropeptide eye therapy, and possibly the vitamin C Ester eye serum. Can you help me with what I should be using. Some lifting would be good, but I've had a brow lift many years ago, and I really have no lower lid problems. What do you think? I'd like my upper lid to look the same color. I've been very ill with CFS and Fibromyalgia which has kept me in bed for most of the past 7 or 8 years, and I'm not sure if that's the cause.

Thanks for any help you can give me. Holly's Mom

If you are sensitive then we would recommend the Vitamin C Ester Eye Serum. Considering everything you've been through it's a nice place to start.

      Great question!

I recommend the High Potency Eye Lift.

High Potency Eye Lift - A fast absorbing intensive eye treatment that helps repair the advanced signs of aging that appear around the delicate eye area, making us look older than we are. High Potency Eye Lift actually lifts skin for a visibly transformed appearance while minimizing deep lines, wrinkles and bags under eyes with Dr. Perricone's patented anti-aging ingredients: DMAE and Phospholipids. Also formulated with Pycnogenol to address loss of elasticity and help brighten skin's appearance. Paraben-free.

      I hope this is helpful.

Is this product hypo-allergenic. I used Loreal revitalize eye cream & Oil of Olay Definity night cream for years but for some reason, when I use it now my skin swells and blisters form on my face. It's horrible. Not sure if they changed their ingredients but would love to buy something that will not do this to my skin and aid against the my aging process.

Thank you for contacting Perricone MD.

No, the Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum is not hypoallergenic.

If you are interested in purchasing a hypoallergenic eye treatment I recommend our Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream.

They Hypoallegenic Firming Eye Cream is a multi-tasking eye treatment and cream in one is formulated with Olive Polyphenols and four proprietary Neuropeptides to address fine lines, loss of firmness, visible crow's feet, dryness and dark circles. It is ideal if your skin is dry or sensitive; and gentle enough to be used post-cosmetic procedure. Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream is ideal for layering over any Perricone MD eye treatment for additional hydration.

I purchased advance eye therapy, cold plasma eye, acyl-Gluthathione eye serum, high potency eye lift, and neuropeptide eye therapy. My concerns are criss-cross lines on the lid and under eye, puffiness all around, under eye circles. No crow-feet or sagging skin. Which treatment combination is best? What order can it be applied in? How do I narrow down my treatment to just a couple products?

It is not necessary to use multiple eye treatments and based on your eye area concerns I recommend both the Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum and the Neuropeptide Eye Therapy; they can be applied twice daily and a moisturizer should follow last.

No, it is not necessary to layer all 3 of these eye treatments and i would recommend alternating the days of usage or they can be alternated by using one in the AM and the other in the PM.

      A:

Thank you for contacting Perricone MD.

The Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum is a treatment for droopy eye lids or hooded lids; it also works to diminish fine lines, crows feet and under eye puffiness.

We have a variety of eye treatments in Dr. Perricone's skin care line that address the following concerns:

      Dark circles
      Puffiness
      Crows feet
      Fine lines
      Wrinkles

However, we don't have a treatment for 'large eyes' that would shrink the size of the eye area.

      I recommend contacting an Opthamologist.

      Have a nice day!

Alas, at 57 I've developed the dreaded "crêpe-paper eyelids" - the stretchy, not quite wrinkled, but not quite smooth skin that defies applying eyeshadows and eyeliners evenly and smoothly.
This is the first product I've found that can be used on the actual eyelid and it works! I didn't have high expectations as it's topical, not an eyelift, so I was pleasantly surprised to see an immediate improvment within hours of the first application, with maximum results after a week of use. With daily use, my eyelids are smooth, my eyemakeup goes on evenly and no longer looks smudged as though I've slept in it.

My only complaint is that the price is steep for my budget given the small size (1/2 oz) for a product used daily. I've never understood why products for the eye are priced so high compared to products for the face. The formulations can't be so special there's a reason to charge almost 50% more for an eye product. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this product and will have to settle for waiting for a promo or special offer or look for something less expensive.

I used this for about a year and a half and really, really liked it. It kept the crepiness on my lids and lower eye at bay and for the longest time I had no issues with it. Suddenly, I developed some kind of allergic reaction to it. The skin on my lids and around my eye looked burned and I developed little white bumps on my lids. Since I had been using this product for so long I never imagined it was the cause - I thought I had a makeup allergy. I stopped using everything until my skin healed and then started using just the eyelid serum again. Overnight the same thing happened - bright red and swollen eyelids. So disappointing because for the longest time it really seemed to work.

Comments about Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum:

OK ,this is a grreat product for lifting and tightening eyelids. That said I believe if you have thick upper lids that are heavy like fat prolapse this is not the product for you. If however your suffering from a little upper lid crepiness due to thinning of skin and or your lids just naturally are not as sharp as you would like then this is the product I would recommend. No skincare cannot lift the skin that needs surgical intervention.
I have seen great skincare change texture, pore size, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and pigment as well as
give an allover luminousity and firmness to skin. This is a pricey product for what you get, but you use very sparingly ,it works better if you use less.

I have purchased this product twice and both times the pump stopped working. Most of the product got wasted because I had to pour it out so more was used than needed. But, it definitely works great. Please fix the pump! It is a very expensive product so I hate that so much gets wasted because of a defective pump.

I've tried several Perricone products targeting the eye area. But this in the one that meets my needs the best for my age. Definitely saw a difference after only a couple of days. Makes my eyes look younger, brighter and minimizes wrinkles and dark circles.

I agree with other users that the pump doesn't work well. Perricone needs to address issues with the vendor of this product before I will buy it again. Until the issues with the pump and vendor are fixed, I wouldn't recommend buying this product, even though the results are fantastic, it is just a value issue.

Comments about Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum:

I love the product but not the bottle. The trigger is so hard to press and when it does it shoots half way across my bathroom. As this product is very expensive i have to take off the top and use the straw part to use the product. I also have the Re: Firm Eye and the bottle does the same thing.
