I have been using a sample of the High potency Eye Lift for a few weeks. I am looking for more control of the bags under my eyes which are very puffy and not improving with the eye lift product. Do you recommend the Advanced Eye Area Therapy or anything else for this problem?

Thank you for contacting Perricone MD.

Yes, I recommend the Advanced Eye Area Therapy.

Advanced Eye Area Therapy is an all in one lotion that helps prevent and correct every eye area concern: puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles, and discoloration. With continuous use, the delicate skin around the eyes will appear more toned, firmed and bright. Skin will take on a more healthy and youthful appearance.

        I hope this is helpful.

        A:

Thank you for contacting Perricone MD.

The Advanced Eye Area Therapy should be applied underneath the eye out to the corners where the fine lines and crows feet are present, also apply underneath the eye brown on the brow bone. This is an AM & PM eye treatment and a moisturizer should always be applied last.

        I hope this is helpful.

    • Q:

I'm using Advanced Eye Area Therapy like a serum first, then the Firming Eye Cream. Is this correct?
Asked on 3/26/2015 by Auntie Di from Seattle, WA

      1 answer

      • Perricone MD Skincare Specialist

        A:

There are five steps to following the Perricone regime and they are:

        1. Cleanser
        2. Toner or Serum
        3. Exfoliant – (PM ONLY)
        4. Treatment
        5. Moisturizer

Both the Advanced Eye Area Therapy and Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream are treatments (STEP 4) and it is not necessary to layer them; so I would recommend alternating, use one in the AM and the other in the PM and a moisturizer should always follow last.

        I hope this is helpful.

I am 58 years old, and wrinkles are my main concern around my eyes. I also have dark circles, but fortunately, I do not have any puffiness. Which of the eye products are best for wrinkles? I am trying to decide between Advanced Eye Area Therapy and High Potency Eye Lift. Thank you.

They are both excellent treatments and address the same concerns except the Advanced Eye Area Therapy also corrects under eye puffiness; however, since that is not a concern I recommend the High Potency Eye Lift.

        I hope this is helpful.

        A:

Thank you for contacting Perricone MD.

The Advanced Eye Area Therapy should NEVER be applied on the eye lid; this is a treatment for underneath the eye and on the brow bone.

There is only one eye treatment in our line that can be applied to the eye lids besides our moisturizers and that is the Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum.

The Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum is an eye treatment specifically developed to treat droopy and sagging eye lids. This treatment should be applied both AM & PM and a moisturizer follows last.

        I hope this is helpful.

I am using Neuropeptide Eye Therapy to address fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, firmness... should I be using Advanced Eye Area Therapy instead? Which one is more powerful? :-)

You will be getting the most powerful anti-aging results from the Neuropeptide Eye Therapy. For additional benefits use the Cold Plasma Eye twice per day under the Neuropeptide Eye Therapy and use the Blue Plasma Orbital in the PM under both of these treatments.

Is the product supposed to be thin/watery as opposed to creamy/lotion-y? I bought this product a few months ago, and assumed it was supposed to be a thinner consistency, yet in reading thru the Q&A, am now concerned as you refer to it as a lotion/cream.

Hello- can you please recommend which product I should use for: puffiness, under eye circle, bags, dark circles, wrinkles, translucent skin, milia. I am 37 years old, due to weight loss- there is loose skin under my eyes.
I reviewed your products: Acyl-Glutathione Eye lid and Advanced Eye Therapy.
However, no sure if I should just use Neuropeptide Eye Contour.

I would suggest the Neuroepetide Eye Contour for you concerns. This product will:
        - Drastically reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, loss of tone and firmness.
        - Diminishes the appearance of papery, translucent skin.
        - Increases balance and moisture.
        - Combats discoloration and dark circles.
        - Decreases the appearance of puffiness both above and below the eye.
        - Paraben-free.

If you're reading this review, then I'll assume that like me, customer reviews are an important part of the buying process, especially when you're paying top dollar. I'm also guessing that you've seen the mixed reviews for Advanced Eye Area Therapy (AEAT) and thought to yourself, "this is not a good product", or you're just not willing to take a risk and try it when there are other Perricone eye products, which have a higher rating. If you answered "yes" to any of the above, then read on...

First of all, for those of you that only order online (which 99% of the time is me), I highly recommend talking directly to a Perricone advisor about your skin care needs and objectives. I personally work with Maria (option 1 I believe!), and she's been incredibly helpful in terms of helping me select the right products for my specific skin care needs.

Secondly, keep in mind that everyones experiences with Perricone products are very different (Maria pointed this out to me when I first hesitated about order AEAT). What works well for one person, may not work as well for the next. Bottom line, there is always a little bit of trial and error when you're working with a new skin care product. The good news is, Perricone allows you to try a product for 30 days risk free, so if you decide you don't like it - no worries, just return it!

So back to my experience with AEAT. My eyes are generally my biggest concern. I think they give away your age (I am 33) more than any other area of your face, so finding the perfect eye cream is important to me. I had been religiously using the Vitamin C Eye Serum, with Cold Plasma Eye for about 6 months total. While I was not unhappy with the results of these products, I felt I could still achieve better results with another eye cream. Note: If your primary concern is dark circles, the combination of the VCES and the CPE did significantly help to lighten my under eye area, so definitely worth considering. What I felt it didn't do very well, (at least for me) was address my fine lines / crows feet and keep my eyes hydrated. That was when Maria suggested I try the AEAT.

My initial reaction to Maria's suggestion was two-fold. 1) The online reviews are bad, I don't want to try it. 2) My eye area is EASILY irritated, which is why I've had trouble using some of Dr. Perricone's other eye treatments (like HP Eye Lift and the New Eye Lid Serum) without any success. This is also why I started using Cold Plasma Eye in the first place, because it's very mild and non irritating. AEAT contains Alpha Lipoic Acid and DMAE (which can irritate sensitive skin), so knowing that was my concern, Maria suggested that I try AEAT in conjunction with the Hypoallergenic Eye Cream (HEC). The HEC is very moisturizing, so the idea was, it would provide that extra level of moisture that my eyes needed not to become irritated by the stronger ingredients in the AEAT, and/or dehydrated throughout the day.

Yes, I know what you're thinking... Why do I have to buy two eye creams? Honestly, you might not have to, but for me, this proved to be a very effective combination of eye products. Yes, it's more expensive, but no-one said looking young and beautiful was going to be cheap! :)

In addition to Maria's suggestion of combining the two products, she also recommended that I apply them in the morning only for the first week. This is actually a really great tip for anyone trying Perricone products for the first time. Perricone is considered cosmeceutical grade, so if your skin is not used to the powerful ingredients contained in many of his products, even if your skin is not overly sensitive you can have a bad reaction. Less is definitely more in this case!

So bottom line, I've been using both products for about a month now - I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this new combination. I still have no under eye darkness, but the fine lines in the corners of my eye have dramatically reduced, and I can see that skin around my eyes is more hydrated throughout the day. My only complaint with the AEAT at this time is the pump on the bottle is horrible, it's too big and dispenses way too much cream if you push it all the way down. As I am using the product in conjunction with the HEC, you really only need a tiny amount. Aside from that, I'm very happy.

Apologies for the long review, hopefully some of you reading it found my experience helpful? I think the moral of this story is don't always listen to what other people are saying. This product has great ingredients and when used in conjunction with the HEC, it has proven to be very effective at addressing my personal skin care needs and aspirations. Good luck with finding the right eye cream for you!

    Okay in my opinion

I used an entire bottle of this product. It's okay, but nothing stellar in my opinion. It moisturized, but I don't think it did anything for my fine lines.

I have not noticed a difference enough to rate it....I did take close up pictures of the "bags" and dark circles under my eyes for a comparison 4-6 weeks later.....this product is a last stop effort before seeking out an injectable derma filler from a plastic surgeon; therefore I am keeping my fingers crossed.....

Comments about Perricone MD Advanced Eye Area Therapy:

I have been using Advanced Eye Area Therapy for years.
Though I have tried other products, this particular creme does wonders for my beautiful, aging 65 year old eye area. The skin immediately absorbs the creme, rendering those dry lines almost invisible. I cannot really say that the eye area puffiness is so drastically reduced. Puffiness is the issue I would really like to see addressed with a more visible result.
My daily routine is Advanced Eye Area Therapy with Photo Plasma on the rest of my face and neck. I love the fact that these products are paraben free!
