10 Tips to Slim Down for Summer


Many of my readers and viewers know my strong feelings regarding salmon and other cold water fish. Yes, these types of fish are wonderful in slowing down the signs of aging, from wrinkles to cellular repair. But did you know that they are also outstanding foods for weight loss? Part of this is due to their high concentration of omega 3 essential fatty acids which affect and trigger a number of different obesity-fighting processes. If you want to lose weight or just maintain the weight you have, eat these fish and also take omega 3 fish oil capsules.

Here are 10 additional tips for successful and rapid weight loss:
  • Follow the anti-inflammatory diet
  • Eat your protein first at each meal and snack because protein helps supress the appetite
  • Every meal or snack must include: protein, low-glycemic carbs, essential fatty acids
  • Follow a regular (ideally daily) exercise regimen
  • Get enough sleep
  • Don't skip meals
  • Stay well hydrated by drinking 6-8 glasses of pure spring water daily
  • Keep insulin levels stable by grazing and eat four to five small, well-balanced meals per day
  • Learn how to control stress
  • Save the fresh fruit for the end of the meal to prevent the natural sugars found in the fruit from causing a spike in blood sugar. Our goal is to avoid spikes in blood sugar which trigger insulin release. Remember this fact: insulin release = stored fat!
