12 Months of Wellness: A Resolution You Can Commit To
When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, there’s likely one thing we can all agree on—sticking to one for an entire year is no easy task. Trust us, we get it. Committing to what you want for lunch can be hard enough, let alone devoting an entire 12 months to reaching your end goal.
But who says your resolution has to span an entire 365 days? And who says it should require you to make drastic changes in your daily life? Not us.
That’s why in 2017, we want to introduce a resolution you can truly commit to—one that’s not only attainable, but will continue to benefit you long after 2017 comes and goes. Oh, and the best part of it all? The level of commitment is entirely up to you.
We call it 12 Months of Wellness, but you can call it the pathway to a happier, healthier you.
Here’s how it works.
Each month, we’ll introduce a new 30-day challenge to commit to. The theme of each challenge will vary, but the resolution remains the same—a commitment to improve your personal health and wellness.
While some topics will focus on the expected—such as diet, nutrition and exercise—we’ll also spice things up with an extra dose of fun, like making an effort to get out and enjoy the outdoors or dedicating some time to pick up a new hobby. Which challenges you choose to participate in are entirely up to you; it could be as simple as experimenting with a skin-healthy recipe we share here, or scheduling at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day for 30 days. The decision is yours.

For those of you who are looking to take things up a notch, we invite you to share your commitments and progress on social media using the #PerriconeMD hashtag. They say having an “accountability buddy” can help you stick to and achieve your goals, and what better way to hold yourself accountable to 12 Months of Wellness than with the Perricone MD community? There may even be a little something extra in it for you… Just saying.
So with the logistics out of the way, we’re sure there’s one question still lingering in your minds that probably it sounds a lot like this: “What’s the January challenge?”
We can’t believe it took you this long to ask! (…Okay, or maybe it just took us this long to answer.)
This month is an easy one.
Choose one new health-benefitting activity to try. Just one thing, and it can even be just once if it doesn’t end up being your cup of tea. Here are some suggestions:
- Try that new workout class you’ve been wanting to go to but are constantly making excuses to avoid
- Incorporate a personalized supplement regimen into your daily routines to give your body and skin health a little extra support
- Add an extra serving of vegetables to your diet (and keep an eye here for nutritious recipes to make that a little easier)
Sounds pretty doable, right? Maybe you’ll love it, maybe you’ll hate it, but you’ll never know if you don’t try.
Make 2017 the year of YOU. Be a little selfish and commit time to yourself and your health—your body will thank you for it.
